Information Excerpted from the Dickie Lake Plan

Dickie Lake is situated in the Township of Maclean in the Township of Lake of Bays within the District Municipality of Muskoka in the Province of Ontario. The closest town is Baysville which is centrally located between the towns of Dorset (to the east), Bracebridge (to the west) and Huntsville (to the north).

Dickie Lake is accessible from Southern Ontario via Highway 400 to Highway 11 and then east on Highway 117. After passing through Baysville turn right on Road 51 (a.k.a. Echo Lake Road) for 1.2 Km to Dickie Lake Road West.

There are no major rivers connected to the lake which is primarily spring fed. Dickie Lake is part of the watershed for the Lake of Bays as it lies in a bed of Cambrian rock at a higher elevation that Lake of Bays. This results in its one major outflowing creek emptying into the south branch of the Muskoka River.

As of 2001, the lake has 143 residences, 27 of which are full time residents. The number of residents is expected to grow in the years to come as more people retire to the area.

map

At one time Dickie Lake actually was shown on the official road map of Ontario, but somewhere along the way it was taken off. On the above map the lake is situated right about where the word "Baysville" appears.
